Welcome to another Freeuse Friday where women get what they want — as long as they obey. But what if a husband doesn’t know how to demand what he wants? Hopefully, Marcus is willing to learn.

Being married to a football fanatic means one thing — I’m a game-day widow unless two things happen. First, Marcus has to be on call as a paramedic, and second, his friends decide to watch the game at a sports bar instead of our place.

If I’m lucky, I get one or two games a season to take advantage of him being home alone and with football-induced passion to burn. Win, lose, or draw, Marcus will want to take out his emotions on my body. I’ve circled this night on my calendar since his work schedule got posted — and as long as no multi-car pile-ups or house fires demand his presence, tonight is my lucky Friday night.

I peek into the games room. Marcus is lounging on the sofa, the big screen TV already showing the pre-game show, his snacks on the coffee table, and drinks in the cooler at his feet. He’ll allow himself one low-alcoholic beer during the game in case he’s called out. But I’ve stocked…
